June Gloom [Ask Chanelle]

The past few weeks has been really busy and trying for me. The month of June has seen good shiny days in LA, as well as those chilled-gloomy weather. It's hard to tell what season it is in this bi-polar climate. So, it got me to thinking about a few things about the thoughts I carry, and if those thoughts are leading to happier-brighter days, or a endless amount of gloom.

Here's today's advice:

Most people don't realize how much emotion they put into what they don't want. When you speak to a friend and you tell them all about an "awful" situation, you are putting emotion into what you don't want. When you react to an event negatively, with the response that it is "terrible", you are putting emotion into what you don't want. How much energy are you putting into what you don't want? Think of the amount of energy you are putting into something good, ignore the rest. xo

::What I wore:::
This look is a combination of cute and comfortable! I decided to pair my favorite faux leather - lapel zipper sleeve jacket with a simple white spaghetti strap tank. What pulled this look all together was the AMAZINGLY comfortable black and white print bomber pants I got from a very trendy thrift store off Ventura Blvd in Los Angeles.

::What I'm listening to::
So lately I've been completely obsessed with the British singer, songwriter, producer and lyrical angel James Blake. If you don't know who he is,come explore him with me. This is the song I've been jammin while hammering away at this post. It's melancholic tunes ease my thoughts, and centers my creativity. You want some chill-music, check this track out... you're welcome!
